New LE model Lexus IS

- Date posted : 28/10/2003
The enduringly popular Lexus IS range
is being made all the more desirable this
autumn with the introduction of new LE
(Limited Edition) versions. Available
for a limited period only, the IS200 and
IS300 LE benefit from a superior specification
for added luxury and sporting good looks.
Building on the equipment level of the
current SE models, the LE introduces 11-spoke
17-inch alloy wheels and HID (High Intensity
Discharge) headlamps. The interior features
full leather upholstery and detailing
and a front armrest is added to the driver's
seat.
The specification also includes front,
side and curtain shield airbags, climate
control, electric multi-adjustable heated
front seats, eight-speaker sound system
with in-dash six-CD autochanger, electric
windows and sunroof, automatic anti-glare
rear view mirrors and cruise control (automatic
models only). The LE model includes over
£1,200 of extra standard specification;
all for just £460 more than an SE model.
The LE models are uniquely finished in Kodiak Sky dark silver metallic paint
and are on sale now.
Minor changes for 2004 model IS Range
The IS range has undergone some minor
improvements for 2004; on sale from late
October 2003, the revised car now includes
high gloss aluminium trim surrounds for
the electric window switches and heating
controls and a new oddments tray with
lid for the centre console. For the exterior,
the front and rear light extensions now
incorporate a smoke-effect finish.
